At Heron Bay Holidays, we are dedicated to providing our guests with a serene and comfortable retreat in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Our family-owned business prides itself on offering exceptional hospitality and well-appointed accommodations that allow you to fully immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Scottish Highlands.
Originally from Tasmania, Sharyn travelled extensively before settling in Scotland with Robin in 1997.
As well as running the holiday cottages, she works for a Mental Health charity managing Community Link Workersacross the Highlands and in her spare time enjoys hill running and loch swimming, both of which she can do from her doorstep, right next to the cottages.She also loves gardening and grows fruit and vegetables on the croft for the family.Sharyn runs the operations of the cottages. We have a daughter, Elizabeth, who is a Personal Trainer.
Robin’s family have been on the site of our croft and the cottages since the later half of the 15th century when the land was given to his family.His Grandparents founded the Croit Anna Hotel, just up the road and Robin worked there until it was sold in early 2000s.He is a time served Joiner, who is now enjoying retirement, travelling as often as he possible.He also keeps a small light aircraft in Connell and flies when the weather permits. Robin does all the maintenance at the cottages.
The land the cottages is on has gone through many transformations since the family have been on it.It has been worked as croft with animals kept on it.It was a campsite and now has the family home on it as well as the cottages.We also keep chickens and ducks on the croft, which are very friendly and will visit you if you throw some bread their way.
