Our Story

Heron Bay Holidays are two substantial log cabins, Heron Bay and Otterbank on the shores of Loch Linnhe, just south of Fort William in the beautiful Scottish Highlands. They were designed by Robin, to ensure guests have the best accommodation, and built in Transylvania by skilled workmen, who then dismantled them, shipped them over and rebuilt on site, with Robin doing the inside finishings. They are situated on our small croft which has been in the family since the latter half of the 15th Century when Lord MacDonald, the "Lord of the Isles" gave authority for his kinsman Ewan MacLean, Chief of the Clan MacLean to displace by force the Clan MacMaster from their ancient homelands in Ardgour. Our family have been on this croft since then. We would love to welcome you to our beautiful part of the world.

What We Offer

Accommodation: Each cottage has:

Two en-suite bedrooms. One twin and one with a luxurious super-king size bed. Spare pillows and blankets. Electric Blankets on each bed.
Walk in wardrobes with plenty of space to store your clothes and luggage.
En-suite bathrooms with large double ended baths, separate power shower and heated towel rails.

A fully equipped kitchen

A fully equipped kitchen with everything you need for your holiday.
Large fridge freezer, hob, oven, microwave oven, dishwasher.
All the cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils needed for your break.

Lochside Location

We are located right on the shores of Loch Linnhe with direct access to your own private part of the loch. We encourage you to bring your own water based activity equipment and have a fire at the beach to watch the glorious sunsets we are famous for.

How can I book?

Simply use our Book Now button to be put through to our booking page. Alternatively, phone Sharyn on 07496971127 or 01397 705786 to discuss your requirements.

What is your cancellation policy?

A deposit equivalent of one night’s accommodation is payable at the time of booking. This is non refundable. If your booking is less than 30 days away, full payment is required and this is non refundable. Full payment is due 30 days before your holiday. If you cancel within 30 days of your holiday, this money will be kept unless the accommodation is resold. We suggest you take out insurance for your holiday.

Do you allow pets?

Unfortunately, we do not allow any pets at Heron Bay Holidays

Are bedlinen and towels provided?

Heron Bay Holidays provide all bedlinen and towels, as well as linen for cots if needed.

Do you have direct access to the water?

Yes! We have our own access to the loch which only Heron Bay Residents have access to. You are welcome to have a fire at the shore, or bring your own canoes, kayaks, paddleboards for your own fun. We also recommend swimming in the loch.

Do you provide wood for the fire?

We provide an initial box of wood for the fire. We can provide a further box for a cost of £5, or it can be bought in Fort William.

Are children welcome?

Children over the age of 3 are welcome. We do not have the facilities for young babies.
